Member of the Board and CEO since October 2012, Pascal brings a passion for science and medicine, significant experience in established and emerging markets, strength of strategic thinking and execution, a successful track record of managing change and executing strategy, and the ability to lead a diverse organisation. He served as COO of Roche’s pharmaceuticals division and, prior to that, as CEO of Genentech. Pascal has worked in senior management roles in several major companies in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the US and Switzerland before joining AstraZeneca in the UK. He is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and holds an MBA from HEC Paris. In 2022, Pascal received a knighthood for services to life sciences and leadership in the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Pascal is on the Board of Agilent Technologies Inc. and Sustainable Markets Initiative Limited.
